The Barefoot Birthkeeper
Holding space, so you can achieve the birth of your dreams.
As your Birthkeeper, I will work by your side as you prepare to give birth; hold space so you can labor and birth the way you're dreaming and preparing for, present in each moment with a calming reassurance and compassion. Whether you are interested in a birthing class, breastfeeding support, or would like to work with me as your Doula, I’ll provide the emotional, educational and physical support you need not only during labor, but throughout your pregnancy and postpartum as well.
Meet The Barefoot Birthkeeper
Why I’m a Doula.
I think my experience with my own births is the biggest contributor to bringing me down this path. I sadly was not very educated on birth with my first and it led me right into an intervention filled birth. My second pregnancy with my twins, I was just so worried about all the what ifs, I again had a very medical birth. In fact it was a surgical birth because baby A was breech. I didn't know then breech is just another variation of normal and with the right support could have delivered my babies vaginally.
It was many years later when I met my soul mate Jacob. God definitely arranged that one because we had been both hoping and praying to find each other but we would have likely never crossed paths on our own. So we married and decided to have a baby. Amazingly enough I accomplished having an unmedicated VBAC, even in a hospital setting! Some how made it nearly 32 years of life and the idea of a midwife or doula had never crossed my mind!!! So even though I was immensely proud and riding that birth high after my VBAC, when I reflected back I still saw so many things wrong with the experience and longed for that magical birth. This only fueled my passion for respectful, peaceful, calm, empowering births! With this new feeling being able to accomplish anything I put my mind to, I finally dove in deep into anything and everything natural birth related!
My 5th baby came into the world very quickly and unexpectedly(at 37+4) but I delivered him myself on my bathroom floor! It still wasn't the birth center water birth I had been preparing for, (babies have a funny way of making their own plans), but it was by far the most empowering moment of my life. Recovery was a dream. Never having to leave my own bedroom, having my midwife and husband take care of me from the comfort of my bed, getting all the glorious uninterrupted bonding time with baby!
Its the peaceful experience and empowering feelings I hope to help other mothers accomplish!

Meet The Barefoot Birthkeeper
Why I’m a Doula.
I hear so many times, if I knew what I have known now, then, I would have done things completely different, and that is why I love being a support for mothers. When I look back at both of my pregnancies, I wish I had someone to support and help me with what I didn't know. My first pregnancy almost ended in a c-section, because I didn't know what questions to ask. My second did end up in a c-section from not knowing about breech babies.
I really became passionate about the birth and educating after my birthing experience. There is so much education and resources out there.

I believe deep down in my soul I have found my calling in serving birthing mothers. My own childbirth experiences and witnessing a dear friend's water homebirth and my sister's birth have lead me to become a passionate advocate for respectful, empowering, peaceful births.
What is needed for pregnant women
and new mothers is for others to take time to listen to them, so they can listen to themselves and find themselves.
Helping and educating women is a calling, we are powerful beings, having a village makes a difference, we are your village.

"Being a Doula is not about witnessing the birth of a baby. It is about holding every ounce of a woman's being in your hands, so that she may birth her baby and emerge transformed as a mother with a spirit and soul that are whole."
